A Canadian work permit visa, also known simply as a Canadian work permit, is an official document issued by the Canadian government that allows foreign nationals to work legally in Canada for a specified period of time. This permit is usually required when an individual wants to work in Canada temporarily and is not a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

Individuals eligible for this category of visa are:
A specialist/consultant/employee/individual who is employed by a government/semi-government/autonomous organization/project and equivalent organization in Bangladesh. A person who is employed by a local/foreign government/semi-government/communications/industrial/commercial organization or other equivalent organization in Bangladesh. A person employed under local/foreign government/semi-government contractor ship and equivalent organization in Bangladesh is a person who wishes to do respectable work (without pay) with a registered NGO in Bangladesh.
Work Permit Visa Duration:
Work Permit/Employment Visa can be issued for a maximum of three (03) months with single, double or multiple entries. The duration of stay in this category is a maximum of 90 days per visit.
Procedure for Extension of Visa:
Extensions up to three (03) years can be obtained from the Department of Immigration and Passports (DIP) of Bangladesh.

Canada Work Permit Visa Fee
Visa fees are determined on the basis of reciprocity with the country of the foreign national seeking the visa. Please note that the visa fee is non-refundable even if the visa is refused or the visa application is withdrawn. Unless otherwise decided, the visa fee for Canadian passport holders is CAD 200 (multiple entry) and CAD 100 (single entry). However, separate visa fees apply for citizens of other countries.
You can send your visa application by post along with your passport and all other required documents and a self-addressed prepaid envelope. To obtain a visa by post, you must pay the visa fee by postal order or bank draft made payable to ‘Bangladesh High Commission, Ottawa, Canada’ and allow at least 05 (five) working days from the date of receipt of the application.
Required Documents:
The following documents are required at the time of submitting your application:
- Original passport with photocopy of the photograph page (valid for at least six months);
- Printed copy of the online visa application form duly filled in and signed accordingly;
- 2 (two) recent passport size colour photographs – with white background;
- Letter of appointment and contract with full terms and conditions including salary details.
- A letter from the concerned employer in Bangladesh stating the applicant’s position in the organization.
- Recommendation letter from the concerned Ministry of Bangladesh/BOI/BEPZA
Visa Application Processing Time:
The visa application processing time may vary from applicant to applicant, and in some cases additional administrative processing will be required and we cannot expedite these requirements, therefore we recommend that you do not purchase flight tickets until you have your passport with visa.
The ideal time to process a visa application is at least seven (07) working days at the Bangladesh High Commission, Ottawa.
If the Bangladesh High Commission wishes an applicant to attend an interview, the Consular Section of the Bangladesh High Commission will contact the applicant and inform the date and time of the interview accordingly.

Visa by Post:
You can send your visa application by post along with the passport and all other required documents and a self-addressed prepaid envelope. How to Apply for Canada Work Permit Visa from Bangladesh

Step-1
All applicants who wish to apply for a Bangladesh visa are requested to first fill out the online application form for a Machine Readable Visa (MRV) (manually filled visa applications are not acceptable). Document Preparation:
All applicants are requested to visit the Visa Section of this website to know the visa category and its document requirements. Please prepare all the supporting documents required for the visa application.
Before coming to the Bangladesh High Commission, Ottawa, you are requested to ensure the following:
- Original passport valid for at least 06 months with at least two blank pages.
- Printed copy of the online application form.
- Two (02) recent passport size photographs with white background.
- Applicant’s signature on the application form within the area marked for signature.

Passport Collection
